’90s Teenagers in Their Bedrooms, Adrienne Salinger

In 1995, artist
Adrienne Salinger
wanted to depict the authentic lives of young people in ‘90s America — a contrast to the perfect Beverly Hills 90210 types portrayed in the media. She photographed teens in the most intimate space of all: their bedrooms.

Yogic Challenge

lazyyogi:

When you don’t have to be actively thinking, don’t think.

Focus your attention on the feeling of your body. Inhabit the entirety of your body. Do this whenever you get the chance throughout the day.

Start at your feet and work your way up, feeling each part of your body one at a time. Scan your body a few times this way.

Then to feel different parts at once. Feel your feet and your hands simultaneously. Feel your hips and your shoulders. Feel the backs of your knees and the space inside your skull. Feel your gut and your elbows.

Lastly, feel your entire body as a whole. Rest and abide as this feeling, whether your are walking, standing in line, or eating a meal.

With practice, you will start to feel all of your body as one seamless whole.

This is the process of defragmenting your body-mind. The result is happiness and harmony.

Namaste
